Semi Famous Family Member

So I couldn't sleep the other night and something got me thinking of past family members. I remembered my mom telling me of a great grandfather that was born with no legs, just feet. He was in the circus and pretty famous back in his day. I decided to google him. First I did the google images because I couldn't remember his first name but I knew his last name and I knew what he looked like. He didn't come up by name because the last name "Bowen" is pretty popular so I tried "Circus Bowen." Oh my! All kinds of pictures came up. And there was his name with the pictures. Eli Bowen. I haven't even been able to scrach the surface of web sites about him.

I am writing this to you all to share Eli with you and for you maybe to encourage you to google some of your relatives. It was pretty cool to find. If you have already done this, I would love to hear about what you found out.

It's Friday Woot

I'm so happy. It's Friday! It's also most peoples payday. This means we get to pay off more bills. Aren't you so happy for us? He he! I'm just glad it's getting done.

Well it is supposed to start cooling off here and I'm happy about that too. They say it might even rain.

My yard sale is tomorrow. As the time gets closer, the less I want to do it. Well its only for 3 hours. Lol! I'm such a big baby.

Man!

Man! I woke up this morning and went pee. Then flushed the toilet. Noticed that somebody left the dog shampoo out so I put it in the cupboard behind the toilet and knocked a small travel sized baby oil into the toilet as it was going down the hole. I couldn't even grab it. Its gone.

We just had the plumber out her for a tenant that was flushing her qtips and dental floss and it was $90.00. Man! Well if poor Chris cant get it, there goes at lease $90.00 or more if they have to take the toilet off. Grrrrrrrrrr.

I hope this isn't a sign of how my day is going to be. Lol!

She Is Getting Sneaky!

Today I was reminded of Mikala getting sneaky. Mikala said she wasn't feeling good a few months ago. I gave her the thermometer (because the rule in my house is if your not throwing up and/or no temp, your going to school) and left the room. I heard the thermometer go off meaning it was done and went back into the bathroom. She handed it to me and it read 104. Lol! I said, "Mikala you would be at the hospital if it was 104 lol!" She smiled and admitted she ran it under the hot water.

There was a other one but I cant remember what it was.

I think it is so funny. She has never tried to be sneaky like this. What are some sneaky experiences you have heard of or experienced with your own kids?

Oh and Gloria, when Jen & Ali were sneaky - I wasn't there. I know nothing. Brian did it. Just kidding. He he!

$900.00 For Knives?

Today one of my tenants asked me if she could come over to demo a knife set. She said I didn't have to buy anything. She just needed me to listen so the company would pay her for the demo. I said yes. So she got out her knives one at a time and explained what they were for and why they were better than others sold on the marked. She showed me how they cut through rope, leather and other various things. Then she asked me to get out my knives. Oh my! My knives next to hers were so bad. It was embarrassing. Anyways, she moved on to the different sets you can buy and mix and match them. Then we got to the prices. $900.00 for one set she starts out with. $900.00. Did she think I smoke crack because I don't. Lol!

Here Comes The Hot Weather

Okay I forgot what hot weather was. Boy oh boy did it hit me today. And now it's about 500 PM and I just remembered that I should have turned on the AC a long time ago and shut my windows. I have to get back into the old routine. This year I'm going to buy the family pass to get into the local pool. Its nothing fancy like some of you have. But its cool water to swim in. We have a lot of rivers up here but we have a lot of geese and things that like to swim in it too. I'd rather be in a filtered pool. Lol! I also have to change things in my day like get all my errands done in the morning so I don't have to go out in the heat of the day. I think we are going to have a really hot summer.

Cool Web Site

Somebody introduced me to a new web site called freecycle.org . You enter your zip code or City & State and it will give you a list of all the free stuff people in your area are trying to get rid of. Or you can list stuff on it too. Very cool. Great idea because I have tenants that often leave stuff behind when then move that they don't want and then Im stuck trying to get rid of it. This too may save me in gas trying to go to St. Vincent De Paul after the yard sale. Lol!

We Got So Much Done

Mikala stayed the night at her aunts house last night. This morning Chris & I went through our storage getting ready for the garage sale next Saturday. It was so nice for him and I to get in there and not having Mikala going - "Ooooo can I have that?" Or, "don't sell or get rid of that!" We went through every single box, drawer, and bag in there. We recycled so many boxes and other things. It was great. After we were done, we really didn't have as much for the garage sale as I thought we would. That's okay because I know what ever doesn't sell, I will be taking to the donation center. I did however find some stuff to sell on eBay. Stuff that I know I will get way more on eBay than a garage sale. The break was nice but she is home now. Time to be a mom again and tell her "no!" Just kidding. Just wait till Saturday and Mikala sees what we are going to sell. Maybe we should have asked her aunt to watch Mikala that day too. lol!
